The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3090 HO Scale Columbia Feed Mill models the gambrel-roofed brick feed mills once common across the continent. These mills ground grain grown locally, or shipped in by the boxcar load, into animal feed that was then bagged and reloaded into customers’ wagons or trucks. For extra storage, owners often added attached or freestanding buildings that conformed to the curve of their siding or the shape of their property.
The 933-3090 kit includes a brick mill building with a loading dock and canopy, plus a two-story wooden storage building. Parts come molded in appropriate colors with detailed brickwork and a gambrel roof, and decals are included. The design fits straight or curved sidings, making the 933-3090 a flexible fit for steam, diesel, and modern layouts. The finished mill measures 7-1/4 x 5-5/8 x 5-1/2″ (18.4 x 14.3 x 14cm), and the storage building measures 6 x 4 x 4″ (15.2 x 10.2 x 10.2cm).
