The Walthers Cornerstone 933-4052 HO scale Metro Power & Light kit models an up-to-date coal-fired generating plant of the kind that supplies much of North America’s electricity. Unit trains of clean-burning coal feed the turbines, while air and water treatment equipment helps hold down emissions.
Colored steel panels give the building simple, contemporary lines that blend into a modern skyline, and a tall smokestack plus varied rooftop details add plenty of visual interest. Typical of 1970s-and-later plants, the easy-to-build 933-4052 is molded in three colors plus clear plastic and measures 13-7/8 x 10 x 13″ (35.2 x 25.4 x 33cm).
